Auberge Shalom pour femmes (ASPF) is a non-profit organization. The shelter was founded in January 1989 by the Montreal Section of the National Council of Jewish Women of Canada, in direct response to a fatal incident of conjugal violence within the Jewish community,
In 2002, ASPF opened a Counselling and Resource Office for external services for women and their children.
Since its inception, ASPF has provided direct professional services to thousands of women and children.
In keeping with our ultimate goal of stopping the cycle of conjugal violence, an integral part of our work has been to reach out to the community at large through a variety of ongoing sensitization and educational programs. Link to Community Programs below.
ASPF is primarily funded by the Ministry of Health and Social Services and receives donations from the community at large that allow the Centre to grow and expand its programs.
